Your wedding is the day when you want everything to be picture perfect, including your wedding pictures. Who wouldn’t want to capture those perfect moment of joys and although you might be having friends with DSLRs but well, let’s face it not every person with an SLR could snap those perfect shots as photography depends more than just the camera.
Anyone who has even the remotest of idea about professional photography and editing would know the stark difference a correct angle and the right click could do for a picture. Photography is an art and although, it might come naturally to a few, most of them spend considerable amount of money and time to perfect this art.
Couples on a budgeted wedding are forced to cut corners and it is only understandable when they try to look for ways to reduce the overall cost but your wedding pictures are more like a memento that would enable you to relive your D day, twenty-five years later. Opting for a professional photographer would ensure that all your important moments and some not so important ones are duly captured.
Entrusting your friend with the job doesn’t necessarily mean that he’d end up taking crooked unattractive pictures but his focus would not entirely be in clicking pictures as opposed to the professional photographer’s. So there’s no chance of you missing out on those little but special moments and you can completely rely on him.
The photographer is bound to take pictures with more than one camera as they usually come armed with a myriad of equipments and hence there’d be no instance of the camera malfunctioning.
Editing plays an integral part in the way the entire wedding album shapes up eventually. These days you can get your wedding pictures customized in the form of a magazine or even a cardboard cutout with a collage. The pictures have to edited and not just to cater to red eye reduction but also to add detailing. Fine tuning the pictures can turn a simple but drab picture to a brilliant piece of art, which only professional knowledge and experience can garner.
If this convinces you in favor of hiring a wedding professional for your big day, you should also be a little aware of how to choose the perfect person to do the job. A lot of “professional” photographers claim to be the best in their trade and charge exorbitant amount of money only to disappoint later.
The acid test here is something that you can see with you own eyes- past sample works. Make sure the photographer that you want to hire, presents you with relevant past experience and if you feel their work is simple wow and worth the moolah, you should probably go for it. An experienced photographer would have a number of sample pictures to display and this is a complete must as you’d have a fair idea of his style and what exactly to expect in terms of your own pictures.
Experience can only enhance talent but a lot of amateur photographers can do the same magic and at almost half the cost, since they are looking to build goodwill. Before you give them a chance, do ask them to click some “sample” pictures for you and also edit them so that you know exactly what’s in store.
Some wedding studios also invite couple to get their special pictures clicked in studios itself, which is more like a photo shoot. Usually, you’d have to pay a bit extra for this or some might even include it in the wedding package. This is just one way to make your big day extra special and memorable.

Kim Kardashian might have a number of men and some women lusting after that voluptuous body, when it comes to style, it’s more than just a good body that can turn heads.
Spotted at an airport, Kim seems to be carrying the perfect ensemble of simplicity and elegance. The maxi skirt, which is gaining leverage with everyone from the likes of Ashley Tisdale to Jessica Alba stepping out in these flowy skirts and creating a style statement makes for a refreshing change.
Kim chooses to play safe here with the colors and although, she’s got the style right with the maxi skirt and white tank top, she could have played a bit around with colors. The blue maxi skirt makes for a casual feel, perfect to beat those jet lags The white tank top does enhance her curves and make for a good pair to be teemed with a solid blue skirt, but a floral print would have taken the too-casual appeal out and would have added a bit of detailing.
Maxi skirts are supposed to be worn a bit waist high (all those thong-exposing-barely-up-the-hip-jeans loving women might steer clear of this one), but Kim wears it right at her upper waist and this brings the skirt totally in fashion, underlying the need for an attention-calling top. And the slit till mid-thing, just perfect to raise the oomph factor without making it too obvious of an effort.
For the summer, this look is perfect, but if you do not trust the weather and would want to be on the safe side, without compromising on Fashion- keep a cardigan (both the short and the ones reaching the waist would do). Beige and black would be the safe choice, while pink and orange are the colors of the season.
If Kim has gone utterly simple to the extent of being drab, she has accessorized it right. The neckpieces add to the funk factor and complete the overall look. The chunky necklaces take the focus away from the simple top and give it the right touch. The aviator glares is a wise choice and it lends the right attitude for the dress. A lot of people are of the opinion that aviators have a very rough biker chick look and should be worn more with rockstar clothes but Kim’s choice totally proves them wrong.
We love, love, completely love the nude pumps that Kim opted for. Nudes are completely in this season and with a solid colored skirt, nude makes for just the perfect choice. The color, the heel, the strap, absolutely gorgeous!
Keeping the makeup to a bare minimum is obviously a practical choice when you are commuting and Kim has scored brownie points in the makeup department. She’s opted for only the basic foundation and the nude lips and which with nude pumps make for a killer pair. While opting for a nude lip color, make sure you get the perfect nude for yourself.
Keep your skin tone in mind while selecting a nude lipstick for yourself and the best way to determine the right color would be to choose three colors closest to your lip color and apply them in the middle portion of the lips. The color that perfectly blends with your overall lip color is your perfect shade of nude.
She’s gone basic with her hair too and has left her long tresses loose with a middle parting, which emits a nice, casual and nonchalant look.
We give Kim 8 out of 10 for this entire style statement and although, she keeps turning heads with her curves, she does so with her choice of attire too this time.

Just like a flawless canvas is necessary to create that perfect base for a beautiful picture, a layer of foundation can cover up any imperfections and present the perfect base to apply makeup on but a lot of lovely ladies make these common foundation mistakes that not only robs the face of the ‘natural’ look but can also highlight unflattering lines and wrinkles.
The purpose of a foundation is to camouflage any blemish or imperfections that one has on their face. However, quite a lot of them mistake foundation to be the magic potion to change skin color, which looks extremely tacky. The perfect shade is the one that perfectly complements your original skin tone and the best way to pick one, is by taking three shades closest to your skin tone and testing it along your jaw line, of these, opt for the one that seamlessly blends with your skin color.
Also, your skin’s undertone plays an important role in analyzing the correct shade as well. If you have pink undertones, go for a foundation that has a pink undertone and for those with yellow undertones should opt for foundations that have a yellowish tinge to it.
It is advised to moisturize your face well before applying foundation so that the skin that can get dehydrated due to a lack of proper moisturization, does not pull the foundation in and give a blotchey appearance. However, some people start applying foundation even before the moisturizer completely dries off, which could act as a thinner for makeup and lead to uneven coverage.
You should wait a minimum of 60 seconds before applying foundation. Make sure that your face isn’t greasy when you apply the first coat, also if you have an oily skin, opt for a gel-based moisturizer or go for a primer instead of a moisturizer as the latter would lubricate the face and make it greasier.
Foundation does cover blemishes and acne but putting layers after layer of foundation to cover a mountain of a pimple would NOT help. You should apply a thin layer that offers a good coverage, if you need extra help- opt for a concealer, which should be applied before applying foundation and only on the problematic areas.
Also, you should apply foundation evenly on both your face and your neck area. Pay special attention to the jaw line as most women tend to make a mistake while blending foundation along the jaw line and neck area.
The secret to achieving that perfectly flawless look through foundation is by correctly blending it. Use a stifling brush or a wet sponge to blend in and in case you are using liquid foundation, the best trick is to use a wet sponge after you’ve applied foundation to tap away the extra.
I’ve probably used this phrase consistently throughout the article but for fear of repetition, I’d use it again “foundation is all about blending properly”. Do not apply foundation all over your face, use your fingertips to apply foundation in dots on problematic areas and blend using a stifle brush or a sponge. Blend in circular motion and pay special attention to hair and jaw line so that there’s no gap between the edges.
Foundation makes for one of the most, if not the most important part of makeup and must be given due care. To get the foundation part of your makeup right, make sure you follow all the mentioned guidelines and not make those mistakes.

With summer quickly changing from a source of warmth to a scorching ball of fire, it can get really difficult to keep all the layers of makeup on. Add to this, the ever changing trend that is confusing enough to keep you standing in front of the vanity mirror and wondering just what exactly should you be doing with those eye shadows and lip glosses!
Firstly, take your skin type into consideration as that considerably influences the cosmetic and skin care products that you should be picking up. The dreaded oily skin can spell doom in summers as people with this skin type are bound to sweat profusely on the face, which further increases the oil secretion eventually leading to breakouts.
For those with an oily skin, always opt for gel based products that does not make the skin greasy or clogs the pores with dirt and grime. Also, often rub cubes of ice on the face, especially before applying makeup as that would numb the pores and would reduce sweat formation on the face, thus making it possible for the makeup to stay on for long.
Winters might be an arch enemy of the dry skin type but summer is considerably lenient. Although, you might not be sweating buckets on the face, you should follow the basic cleaning and hydrating techniques to keep your skin hydrated and supple.
This season seems to be high on drama and no, we are not talking about sitcoms and movies. The fashion industry’s who’s who seems to be going all dramatic with makeup this fall and although, would they be continuing the trends till the entire summer is still in the speculation stage.
Fendi’s golden leaf shadow would top the list as it goes up and beyond the bold greens and fuchsia pink. For summers this year, cut down on colors like orange and pink, these got thrown away a lot last year. With people opting for orange clothes, orange lipstick, orange eye shadow, orange accessories, orange handbags and orange juices, it’s perhaps time to give orange a much needed break. Colors like coral, baby pink, brown and the let-splay-safe- red would be a much better and practical choice.
Metallic colors are making a comeback and although, the trend is still in its infancy, it has been predicted to catch up by the mid to late May. However, you should keep metallic reserved for the evening wear as it can get a bit too uncomfortable and gaudy for a casual day out.
We would definitely advice you to mix and match to get that perfect look that suits your face structure and skin type and here’s a quick day and evening wear by the experts.

Do you think you look like Darth Vader sans makeup? 95% of women who wear makeup on a regular basis have confessed to feeling self conscious if they step out with their daily coverage. The problem is that they do not accept the person they see in the mirror and worst, they see their flaws through a microscope. There’s no harm in stepping out with a pimple on the forehead but for some women, it’s more like a bullet hole.
Understandably, a lot of us women do need some amount of coverage whether it is to camouflage those freckles or pigmentation and although you do not really have to go without makeup, you can keep it to a bare minimum.
Skip foundation during the daytime. Instead, go for a good sunscreen that covers up redness and blotches. You can also opt for a primer that has a good SPF content that would easily cover 60-70% coverage.
Also, take care of your skin so that you can actually flaunt the “real” layer. Drinking lots of water, eating right, staying active and regular cleansing and toning is all you need to maintain a glowing and lit-from-within skin.
For the minimum barely-on makeup look, you’d have to chuck the cat eyeliner or even the dark black mascara. After applying a primer or the sunscreen, if you need to conceal those under eye bags or dark circles, pat the concealer on the problematic area and gently tap using the tip of your ring finger.
A dash of kohl on your water line and a thin line on the lids would be perfect. You can even opt for light pink or brown eye shadow for the lid, depending upon your skin tone. This would add to the natural overall look and would emit a more toned look. Also, do not opt for a black mascara; a clear one would give you both length and volume while keeping the dramatic black away from the face.
For the eyebrows, if you have a properly cleaned and shaped brow, you don’t really need to worry about them. Just run an eyebrow brush over these to tuck in any stray hair.
With the lips, we mean. Nude shades are hot couture right now and although the perfect nude differs from one skin tone to other, you should choose the one that can both conceal any pigmentation on the lips and blend in with your original lip color.
To find the perfect match, choose three shades that are closest to your lip color and apply each on the middle portion of your lower lip. The one that completely conceals the area and blends perfectly overall is your shade of nude. You can also go for a nude shade to outline your lips as that would make it appear fuller and fill in with a regular gloss.
You can also opt for light peach, pink, coral and a very light shade of orange as these are all natural colors and do not give the impression of a heavy made up face. Avoid red at all cost, you might be able to easily pull of a pair of scarlet puckers but they are far from “natural”. No one honestly has naturally blood red lips unless we are talking about vampires but even they are going vegan these days (!)
Summers are great to get those naturally sun-kissed cheeks but for the unlucky few: dust some bronzer along the contours of the cheeks but do not overdo it, it looks evidently fake when people pat bronzers all over the cheeks like they cost a dime. For the daytime, you can opt for a light peach or pink instead. You can actually completely skip the blush part at least during the day, so that you have a more natural look.
Embrace the real you ladies with your flaws et al and go face the world being the beautiful person that you already are!
